Precipitated silica is an amorphous form of silica; it is a white material, flour. The precipitated silica is produced by precipitation from a solution containing the silicate salt. The three main classes of amorphous silica are pyrogenic silicas, precipitated silicas and silica gels.
Precipitated silica (SiO2) is a non-metal oxidizing compound in the form of a solid powder, white, odorless and insoluble in water except fluoride acid.
