Potassium Nitrate is a component of oxidized black
powder (supplied with oxygen). Before the fixation of the large-scale nitrogen
industry (the Haber process), the main source of potassium nitrate was deposits
that crystallized from the walls of the cave or drained decomposed organic
matter. Piles of impurities are also the main common source: ammonia from the
decomposition of urea and other nitrogenous substances through bacterial
oxidation to produce nitrates.
