Uses:
These compounds are used for a variety of purposes, including as reagents in the mass production of organic chemical compounds suchas vinyl chloride for PVC plastics and MDI / TDI for polyurethane. Other minoruses include use in home cleaning, gelatin production, food additives, and skinprocessing. About 20 million tonnes of HCl gas are produced annually. in the20th century the Leblanc process was replaced by the Slovay process which didnot produce hydrochloric acid as a byproduct.
