Application

Phenylhydrazine hydrochloride was used in the examination of tyrosine phosphorylation of Janus protein tyrosine kinases (JAKs) in normal EPO-responsive erythroblastoid cells in anemic mice [1].

Biochemical / physiol action

Phenylhydrazine hydrochloride causes acute hemolysis when injected intraperitoneally into wild-type mice and single-null Hp and Hx [2]. It suppresses the activity of horseradish peroxide residual (HRP) in animal tissue parts [3].

Preparation Notes

50 grams of Phenylhydrazine hydrochloride dissolves in 1 mL of water to give a clear and very faint yellow solution.
