MgO is used as an insulator in the cable industry, as
a heat-resistant base for crucibles and as a fire-proof base in construction
materials. As a construction material, magnesium oxide wallboard has several
interesting characteristics: fire resistant, moisture resistant, mildew and
mildew resistant, and strong.
