General description
Benzyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (Paraben [3], Benzyl Paraben) is a para-hydroxy benzoic acid ester. It has been added to various cosmetics and personal care products as preservatives. Quantification in cosmetics has been reported by the HPLC method. [3] Microwave-assisted synthesis of benzyl 4-hydroxybenzoate by the reaction between acid (4-hydroxybenzoic) and K2CO3 in the presence of phase transfer catalysts has been reported. [4] This is an endocrine chemical (EDC). This is a promising candidate for use in pharmaceutical and personal care products. The degradation of visible light-assisted photosensitization in homogeneous aqueous solutions of 4.4 ′, 4 ′ ′, 4 ′ ′ ′ - (porphine-5,10,15,20-tetrayl) tetrachis (benzenesulphonic acid) has been investigated. [5]
Application
Benzyl 4-hydroxybenzoate can be used as an internal standard for simultaneous analysis of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in human plasma and urine using micro extraction by the sorbent and HPLC methods. [1] This can be used as an internal standard for the determination of HPLC from routine, kaempferol, genistein, formononetin and biochanin A in the ononis spinosu root. [2]
