Hydroflouric Acid 55% Drigen 25 kg
Hydrofluoric acid is a solution of hydrogen fluoride
(HF) in water and is a colorless smoky liquid that can cause painful burns.
Hydrofluoric acid solution is colorless and highly corrosive, capable of
dissolving various materials, especially oxides and its ability to dissolve
glass has been known since 17th century.
Hydrofluoric acid is a weak acid, with nearly the
same strength as organic acids such as methanoic acid.
Uses:
Generally, hydrofluoric acid has been used to etch
and polish glass. Currently, the largest use for hydrofluoric acid is in
aluminum production. Other uses of hydrofluoric acid include uranium
processing, petroleum alkylation, and pickling of stainless steels.
Hydrofluoric acid is also used to produce fluorocarbons which are used in
aerosol sprays and in refrigerants. Although fluorocarbons are strictly
regulated due to environmental concerns, other applications for fluorocarbons
include the manufacture of resins, solvents, stain removers, surfactants and
pharmaceuticals.
