Specification of Arsenic Acid Sodium 100 g Sigma Aldrich
Description
General description
Bovine serum albumin is a protein that has an important role in regulating the blood colloid osmotic pressure. A water-soluble protein consisting of 583 amino acids, [1] [2] BSA has a molecular weight of 66,430 Dalton. Six α-helices form three BSA homologous domains. Depending on the pH, BSA undergoes reversible conformational isomerization. The original structure of the protein becomes reactive and flexible when heated. [3]
This BSA product is specifically evaluated and tested for the following properties:
• Protease content is very low / protease free
• The content of fatty acids is very low / free of fatty acids
Protein-free BSA is very useful for applications such as:
• Enzyme testing
• Protein-based tests
Protein sensitive techniques which include:
A. Enzyme immunoassay (EIA)
b. Hybridization of nucleic acids
c. adioimmunoassay (RIA)
Application
Bovine Serum Albumin has been used:
• as a media constituent used for the differentiation of potentially compound human stem cells [4]
• in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) and ELISA sandwiches [5]
• for fetal cortical cell permeabilization [6]
