The lawang flower is native to Vietnam and China. This flower has a star shape with seeds hidden in it. The flower of lawang or pekak has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine, especially in the treatment of Arthritis.

This oil can increase lung capacity, soothe overworked muscles, as an antiseptic and as a health tonic. This oil contains Anethole, the same component that fennel contains. This chemical content causes the scent of anise and fennel flowers to be almost similar. This oil is commonly used in toothpaste, soap and perfume.
