Synonym: Oxalic acid diammonium salt
General description
Ammonium oxalate monohydrate is a diammonium salt of oxalic acid. Its delicate crystal structure has been investigated by three-dimensional diffraction studies. The effects of bivalent impurities [Mn (II), Co (II), Ni (II)] and trivalent [Fe (III), Cr (III)] on the growth rate of ammonium oxalate monohydrate crystals have been described. The parameters of space groups and cell units have been analyzed by neutron diffraction studies. The IR spectrum has been compared with spectral agents of isolated coal solvents (CSA).
Application
Ammonium oxalate monohydrate can be used to make an electrochemyluminescence (ECL) solution containing 1mM tris (2,2-bipyridyl) ruthenium (II) (Ru (bpy) 32+) and 0.2mM ammonium oxalate monohydrate in a 0.1M ammonium acetate buffer in ruthenium (II) (Ru (bpy) 32+) and 0.2mM ammonium oxalate monohydrate in a 0.1M ammonium acetate buffer on pH 5.0.
